Darkel Durante is an Italian American who was born and raised in what is left of Carson City. A born fighter, his father was a soldier, as was his brother, Vitaly. His father, however, died when Darkel was only 4, leaving his brother to take care of him. Following the ways of his family, Darkel became a soldier. His brother taught him all of the necessary skills for survival. Darkel has been using firearms and knives since he had enough coordination to pull the trigger and swing the blade. His marksmanship was unmatched in his city of origin (because he spent all his life shooting and working on his breathing), especially when shooting in the one handed "Soviet" style they use in the Soviet Army. (Note! This does not mean he never misses. It means that when he focuses on a target and uses his techniques, his accuracy will be near-perfect, even if the target is moving.) Darkel is also skilled with the knife, however, his skills with other weapons are very limited. At the age of 10, Durante was left to fend for himself after his brother went off to seek his fortune under the pseudonym Tark. Because of this, he is generally distrustful of others. He left CC for Vegas, hoping to find some use for his skills, and look for his brother. He is also a very paranoid individual, due to growing up in post-apocalyptic Carson City. His motto: You shoot first, you die last.
